Für die Entwicklung einer leistungsfähigen Radverkehrsinfrastruktur benötigt die Verwaltung belastbare Informationen zum Zustand des Netzes. Das Land Niedersachsen lässt daher die straßenbegleitenden Radwege an Landesstraßen regelmäßig messtechnisch erfassen und bewerten. Seit 2010 wurden bereits 4 Kampagnen durchgeführt, um den Zustand des Netzes messtechnisch und systematisch zu dokumentieren und die Entwicklung über die Zeit nachvollziehen zu können. Ziel war es, diese Daten in einer Plattform zusammenzuführen und für eine effiziente strategische und operative Erhaltungsplanung nutzbar zu machen.
As part of the campaigns, special survey vehicles travel along the bike paths to capture high-resolution images of the route and surface, as well as data on surface smoothness. The damage is then analyzed using engineering methods and compiled into condition metrics. Based on this, maintenance sections are defined, enabling practical planning of repair and renewal measures. All information from the campaigns was integrated into the ONE.byHeller infrastructure management platform and made available for analysis and planning by the state agency’s regional divisions.
ONE.byHeller provides a globally unique database for managing bicycle path infrastructure. The platform centrally consolidates all condition data, images, and maintenance sections from the four campaigns and makes them analyzable via maps, route profiles, and key metrics. This allows users to track changes in condition over many years and prioritize measures transparently. The platform thus enables well-informed, data-driven decisions regarding the maintenance, expansion, and strategic development of the bicycle path infrastructure.
